Hi, I'm sure the second list is made after a lot of thinking, but since we are talking about the whole world, I'd like to say something. I live in the other side of the planet, far away from the rock n roll scene. You guys are open to a larger variety of bands, so you can choose better according to your tastes. But if reaching out to a small country counts at all, I'd say the first list makes sense, though I wouldn't agree with the order. The Beatles, no doubt, are no 1. And other bands big over here in general? Green Day and Metallica. They're huge here. Queen, Iron Maiden, Nirvana, RHCP, Pink Floyd, Linkin Park, U2, and recently Coldplay. They all inspire our people like hell, and thats saying something. The second list...I've never had the oppurtunity to even hear some their names till now. So if my opinion counts, as far as reaching out goes....list one.
If Oasis and Coldplay announced a gig at Wembley Stadium at the same time Oasis would sell out much quicker. In England at least Oasis are still the biggest band, no one else comes close.
Seeing as this is the BIGGEST BAND list, I have to say the first one makes more sense. Most people don't even know the bands from the second list. I agree, Beatles should be number 1. since they ARE the biggest band ever. Led should be higher up, so should Pink Floyd, Oasis, Queen, U2, and Metallica.
