Kate Bush video for King Of The Mountain - THE TRUTH REVEALED!
It's been bugging me all week but know I am CERTAIN I know where the inspiration in Kate Bush's new video comes from.
First look at these two stills from the video:
The mysterious house with the checkerboard floor
The snow shaker imagery
Got both of those? Now download Homer's new advert from the classic 1992 short film, "Mr Plow".
Spookily, elsewhere in the episode Homer uses his plow (which I believe is some kind of plough) to rescue Kate Bush's dad, George Bush (*check this later), from a bunch of hippies and protestors.
Rumour has it that the second single from Kate Bush's new album, Aerial, will be Kiss My Asphalt.
Yes yes, I know it's all about Citizen Kane, but it's clear that the Simpsons thing is much more prevalent. Isn't it?
I get the feeling that Mr. Plow was meant be a "Citizen Kane" take on those serious perfume commericals. Those clever Simpson writers can be just as inspired as Kate you know!
Great post! It got me laughing. I forgot about the Mr. Plow episode (and yeah, there is a Citizen Kane thing in there, but still.)

Yeah, I like them both in equal measures
