Sometimes you just don't know what you've got till it's gone.
I'm sitting in front of the "telly" watching MTV2's extremely spurious list, "John Peel's Greatest Festive 50" (it seems like MTV aren't content with BBC listeners voting for the Festive 50 so they've made their own chart irrespective of year of release). However I have had the opportunity to see a good many videos I haven't seen for ages, like Pavement's "Cut Your Hair", Belle and Sebastian's "Lazy Line Painter Jane", etc etc.
Speaking of spurious lists, here's 10 great songs from the last 10 Festive 50s:
The version of New York City Cops is the one live at V2004; apparently I didn't rip it from my CD and now I can't find it.
What do you think? Get on over to the BBC John Peel Festive 50 site, study the form and then tell everyone how great he really was. Or just me, if you like; I'll pass it on, promise.
thanks for the mp3's!!!! i just found your site and it's really awesome! very convenient! (i hope i spelled that correctly)
